I've started my second temp job here in Seattle and it's at a public health non-profit organization. I will tell you one thing about these non-profit workers--they may have soul but they don't have humor. I think if it came down to me wanting to kick it after work with the real estate people or the non-profit people, I'd pick the real estate people. Any day of the week.
A few things I love about the health non-profit so far:
1) These are three names of people who work in the office: Cathy Cartoon, Chris Pringle, and Patrick Ewing. Amazing.
2) I've tried to befriend another pale, slightly effeminate temp worker named Morgan, much to his dismay/delight. I asked him who the hawks in the office I should watch out for were and he seemed kind of uncomfortable by the question. However, after I came back from lunch he slipped me a note and said, "Here's the answer to your question," and scribbled on small legal pad paper was a run-down of who I should avoid. I read it and he immediately took it back so he could "destroy it." Double amazing.
3) I'm encouraged to bring music and headphones to listen to at work so that I don't get bored out of my mind while doing data entry. Triple amazing.
