2006-07-04 - 12:00 p.m. I was telling my younger sister Maysa, the one with the amazing mane of teased hair, about what boyfriends and girlfriends do in America, since anything outside of talking on the phone and sneaking out once a week to walk around the park together sounds like third base to Turkmen. I told her about some of the more bizarre relationship behaviors, e.g. wearing the same outfit and walking around with hands in the others' back pocket, the latter of which she finds terribly amusing. So now when she's bored, she comes in my room and asks if we can walk around the house like American lovers do. And thus we set out among our very small apartment, making laps through the living room and kitchen, hands snugly in back pockets like two lovers at a state fair would do.
